A tourist originally from Israel was found dead inside a cabin located in the forested area of San Mateo Río Hondo in the municipality of Miahuatlán de Porfirio Díaz, in the Sierra Sur of Oaxaca.

According to the investigation folder of the state Attorney General’s Office, on November 23, the Municipal Police came to the aid of the owner of the “Hospedaje Pinachos” farm, who found the Israeli tourist dead.

According to testimony, the deceased Yeela Layla S.B., 40 years old, arrived four months ago from that country, apparently “affected by the situation of the social and armed conflict between Israel and Palestine.”

The tourist rented a cabin on the bank of the river, which passes through that mountain community.

The owner of the cabin said that Yeela lived alone, however, upon noticing that as the days went by, he stopped seeing her, he went in search of her, finding no answer, he entered the room, where he found the Israeli woman lifeless, which that seemed like a suicide.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office agent became aware of the facts and began the investigation. After performing the legal autopsy, it was found that the cause of death of the tourist was asphyxiation due to hanging, the Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to Excélsior-Grupo Imagen.

The tourist’s lifeless body was transferred to the municipal pantheon, while communication with the diplomatic corps of the Israeli Embassy in Mexico is waited for identification and repatriation.
