The phenomenon has accelerated with the digitalization of payments and impersonation through telephone calls and messages, where more reports have been filed involving older adults as the main victims.

Underreporting and ENVIPE Measurement

ENVIPE is conducted annually and aims to measure victimization and estimate the number of people affected, the number of crimes, and the number that go unreported. It also measures perceptions of security in the places where people live and the level of trust in institutions.
