Los Cabos strengthens its air connectivity; this 2023 closes with 16 national and 41 international routes

The Las Vegas – Los Cabos route was recently inaugurated; there are 30 flights from the United States.

During this year Los Cabos increased its air operations with new national and international routes as part of its strategy with the aim of diversifying the arrival of tourists to the destination and giving attention to the new global travel trends. For 2023 and looking ahead to 2024, the destination has 16 national routes and 41 from abroad with direct connection to and from Los Cabos.

“Our goal for this 2023 is to achieve the arrival of four million visitors, for which, together with the local authorities and the private initiative, we have carried out various actions to strengthen the presence of the destination among the main strategic partners and in this way, bring the tourist offer of the destination to a greater number of potential travelers,” said Rodrigo Esponda, director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.

At the national level, this 2023 Los Cabos increased its air connectivity with different airlines; there are two national ones, the first is Viva Aerobus with five new routes (this year), for a total of 11; among the destinations are Querétaro with three weekly frequencies; Cancun and Toluca with a daily departure; Ciudad Juárez with two flights a week. In addition to Torreón with two weekly frequencies, which will stimulate the transit of travelers from the center, Caribbean and north of the country.

The second is Volaris with nine routes, two new flights from Querétaro, for a total of four weekly frequencies from this state; and Mexicali with two departures a week.

As for the international market: Iberojet resumed operations and for the second consecutive year, the seasonal flight (from April to September) to connect directly to Los Cabos with Madrid and bring the luxury offer of the destination to a little more than 4 thousand visitors.

Air Canada added Montreal as a new destination, with a weekly flight on board an aircraft with capacity for 169 passengers. Route that is added to the two winter season ones from Vancouver and Toronto.

With the incorporation of these new flights, the destination sees its portfolio strengthened by offering 16 national routes and 41 from abroad (United States (30), Canada (10) and Spain (1) with direct connection to and from Los Cabos; it also stands out for having the second-best connected airport in Mexico, factors that position it among the main international beach centers, thanks to its important airport connectivity.

New route Las Vegas – Los Cabos inaugurated

The new frequency Las Vegas – Los Cabos, which is added to the 29 routes from the United States, will be a seasonal route with operation from December 15, 2023 to April 10, 2024, it will have four direct weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) on board aircraft with capacity for 80 passengers. This frequency will allow to boost the flow of travelers residing or visiting the “Entertainment Capital” to the destination, attracted by the first-class accommodations and experiences that Los Cabos offers, being an important reason to enjoy the warm weather during the winter season.

“This new route from Las Vegas represents an important boost to continue encouraging the visit of travelers from the state of Nevada and the West Coast of the United States during the winter season; allowing us, in addition, to strengthen the air connectivity to Los Cabos and provide more options to the regular or potential visitor who wants to visit us. A primordial issue in which we continue working for the benefit of the development of the tourism industry of the destination,” said Rodrigo Esponda.
