A shootout between police and sicarios breaks out in La Libertad

A shootout between police and armed criminals took place on the afternoon of this Friday, December 29, in the La Libertad neighborhood.

The events occurred near the UAS César Augusto Sandino high school, next to some sports fields, until now the detention of two people was confirmed.

So far, the preliminary information indicates that the agents encountered armed people who were in a red and a white truck apparently from Honda.

The exchange of shots lasted several minutes in the area while neighbors took refuge in their homes and the police asked for support from the armored vehicles of the State Police.

It was reported that young people on motorcycles threw tire spikes so that the gunmen could escape the police siege.

After several minutes of shooting, police managed to control the area, apparently the hitmen managed to escape, although the authorities have not reported if there are casualties or injured in the sector.

Unofficially, two dead and one injured are reported, but the Prosecutor’s Office or the SSP have not yet confirmed the data.
