With Interoceanic Train, ‘the Isthmus is reborn and Tabasco is reconciled’: Carlos Merino

With the start-up of the Interoceanic Train, “the Isthmus is reborn, Tabasco is reconciled, the South-Southeast is developed and Mexico is transformed”, asserted the governor Carlos Manuel Merino Campos.

The Tabasco leader accompanied this Saturday the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the supervision of the progress of the Coatzacoalcos-Teapa section of the FA Line that goes to Palenque and joins the Maya Train.

One day after inaugurating the Z Line of passengers of the railway project, which goes from Salina Cruz to Coatzacoalcos, President López Obrador stressed that the objective of this new emblematic work of the Fourth Transformation is to connect the Pacific Ocean with the Atlantic to compete commercially with the Panama Canal.

He emphasized that at the same time it contributes to restore the passenger train service, from Coatzacoalcos to Palenque, and from Palenque, through the Maya Train, to Cancun.

The Interoceanic Train will integrate cargo and passenger lines, and seeks to connect the ports of Salina Cruz, Oaxaca (Pacific), with Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz (Atlantic), in a journey of 303 kilometers, and will have two high ports, roads, three airports, as well as a gas pipeline and a fiber optic network.

With the entry into operation of the first of its three lines, the communication work generates conditions for Mexico to boost international trade by linking Asia with the east coast of the United States and Europe.
