President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that on February 4 he will inaugurate the Oaxaca-Puerto Escondido highway, which will reduce the travel time between the two destinations from six to two and a half hours.
During his morning conference, the president said that this work is part of the infrastructure plan for the south-southeast of the country, which also includes the construction of the Maya Train, the Trans-Isthmic Corridor and the Dos Bocas refinery.
He also said that he will visit the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas and Tabasco this weekend to supervise the progress of the social programs and the public works in the region.
He added that he will also meet with the governors of these states to coordinate actions and address the needs of the population.
