Oaxaca is awarded for its cultural richness in the Tourism Awards 2023

For its cultural richness, Oaxaca was awarded in the Tourism Awards 2023 held in the Senate of the Republic by the organizations Experts in Tourism and Tourism Education.

In the ceremony presided over by the president of the Tourism Commission, Antonio García Conejo, with the representation of the Secretary of Tourism, Saymi Pineda Velasco and on behalf of the people of Oaxaca, the director of Tourism Promotion Carlos David Jacinto Ortiz received this recognition obtained in the category of Culture.

As Oaxaca is one of the winning states of the 19 categories of this contest, Jacinto Ortiz highlighted before representatives of the tourism industry of the country, the vast cultural richness of the entity, which represents for national and international tourists one of its main attractions.

“The Guelaguetza, ancestral traditions, historical sites and their markets, attract thousands of tourists every year who know that Oaxaca is synonymous with culture,” he said.

During January, thousands of people participated in the voting that was carried out through the digital platforms of Experts in Tourism, with the objective of recognizing and celebrating the outstanding work of people dedicated to the tourism sector, to organizations and federative entities.

The award ceremony was held within the framework of the third edition of the Tribute to Outstanding Leaders in the Tourism Industry, promoted by the organizations Experts in Tourism and Tourism Education and integrated by academic, business and professional people, national and international, who are dedicated to the training of this sector and who work for the strengthening of the economic activity.

The event was attended by the president of Experts in Tourism Ian Poot Franco; the director of Tourism Education Raúl Hammed Torres and the president of the Association for Culture and Tourism in Latin America Armando Bojórquez Patrón.
