Drivers of the popular transport known as aurigas ask the Road authorities to regulate the services offered by tourist providers or buses, who claim that they commit irregularities that affect them directly.
To present the problem and seek a solution, this Tuesday a meeting was held after which Óscar Tirado, from the Alliance of Aurígeros “1° de Junio”, explained that the central demand was regarding the service of tourist tours that the buses are offering even to local schools.
“It is supposed to be of a tourist type; however, it seems that they are venturing into the school, which is a foreign modality. That’s what we come to, that the delegate as an authority clears our doubts. It does affect, more to the aurigas that are tourist and are venturing into the school area, for which there is school transport. Yes, that they comply with what the law marks there is no problem, if the law marks and they are within the law, go ahead”.
The meeting was with the delegate of Road and Transport in Mazatlán, Héctor Daniel Brito Rojas, who acknowledged the problem raised by the drivers of aurigas, and said that they will review the permits that each mode of transport has.
“They must provide a tourist guide service. Then it is misinterpreted and they access other alternative services that do not correspond to them, other modalities, such as picking up passengers along the boardwalk, and that, in addition to generating traffic, they are congesting the road and there are disagreements with the groups”.
Brito Rojas commented that at the beginning of the year there was an approach with the buses that offer these services to comply with these agreements, but the problem that was presented to him, will be made consensus with the other groups, since, as a dependency, they are open to dialogue with all transport sectors.
He assured that, in case it is detected that they are not complying with what each permit or the agreements establish, they could proceed with the retention of vehicles and they could even reach the cancellation of permits.
