The hotels reported a 95% occupancy rate, and the arrival of 5 cruise ships with 17,977 passengers on board was added.

At the end of Holy Week, the Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism, and Fisheries of Mazatlán (Sedectur) announced that the general hotel occupancy in this city was 95 percent in the first part of this holiday period, where the lodging centers located on Del Mar Avenue were able to reach up to 100 percent occupancy, representing a 15 percent increase compared to 2023.

This was announced by the head of the department, Jesús Rigel Sánchez Garzón, who mentioned that for Easter week, it is estimated that the port will see an increase in the arrival of visitors at different points of interest such as the boardwalk and the golden zone.

In addition to the visitors who arrived by air and road, five tourist cruises added a significant number of tourists who were able to tour the city and rural areas, generating significant economic revenue.

“Mazatlán once again had another fortunate holiday period, where the tourism sector benefited. A large influx of visitors was observed at various attractions in the municipality during this major week. In addition, the arrival of five tourist cruises with a total of 17,977 passengers was added.”

The head of Sedectur mentioned that the cruises that arrived were the Disney Wonder, Carnival Panorama, Norwegian Bliss, and Crown Princess.

The head of Sedectur specified that the port of Mazatlán currently has more than 13,000 rooms in lodging centers, as well as a wide offer in vacation rentals distributed throughout the municipality available to visitors.

Sánchez Garzón added that for Easter week, a large number of visitors, both national and international, are also expected, especially because at the end of the holiday period, the total solar eclipse can be observed in this city and port on April 8th, for which Mazatlán will be in the eyes of the world thanks to the experts and scientists who will arrive in the coming days to observe this astronomical phenomenon from here.
