The strategy was adopted by the government of Huajuapan de León, due to the lack of reinforcement in the area.
In response to cases of insecurity at the borders of Puebla and Oaxaca, an operation called “Guardian Angel” has been established, which consists of escorting transporters and motorists to the spot known as “Las Palomas.”
This operation began on April 18th, as an initiative of the public security of Huajuapan de León, Oaxaca, due to the lack of operations by the state police of Puebla.
According to the Commissioner for the Construction of Peace and the Strengthening of Public Security in Huajuapan, Christian Reyes Ramírez, this decision was made in response to the increase in robberies at the borders of Puebla and Oaxaca, and the lack of surveillance by the state police of Puebla.
The operation consists of a patrol or a motorcyclist accompanying the person requesting security to the spot known as Las Palomas, located on the state highway 190 Mexico-Oaxaca, before reaching the municipality of Tehuitzingo.
The operations begin at 5:00 in the morning and conclude in the afternoon. The municipal governments of Chila de las Flores, Petlalcingo, and Acatlán de Osorio, through which they pass, have been notified.
The actions of the collaboration agreement between Puebla and Oaxaca, signed months ago by the leaders of both federal entities, are unknown. Despite this agreement, no operations are observed.
In addition, thanks to the intermunicipal agreement signed in 2022, there is legal backing to act in case of any situation that may occur, and municipal police from the municipalities through which it passes would be added.
It is worth mentioning that last weekend, a vehicle from a pharmaceutical company was about to be robbed by criminals. However, the driver of the unit managed to escape from the criminals.
According to the driver, the assailants were men traveling in a white Volkswagen car, and they tried to stop him at the height of the community of Salitrillo. The driver fled and managed to communicate with elements of the municipal police of Huajuapan, who in turn contacted police corporations from nearby municipalities.
