Editorial.- It will be in two weeks when the new lights will be installed in the squares of Chapala and Ajijic, estimated the coordinator of Evaluation and Monitoring of the Chapala city council, Juan José Martínez, who is in charge of the project.
On March 14, the installation of the first of the lamps began in the Plaza de Ajijic and days later another was installed in the Plaza de Chapala to respond to the citizens’ request for public spaces to look more illuminated.
Juan José reported that 60 days before the installation of the first of the lamps, work was done on the design of the two models that are being installed in both public spaces, one with four luminaires and the other with one luminaire that uses LED technology and provides a great intensity of light.
In Chapala, nine iron structure lamps have been installed so far, of which eight have four luminaires and one has one luminaire. Until now, it is unknown how many more lights will be installed at the head; However, at the close of this edition, work was underway on the foundation to place another one.
In this sense, the Evaluation and Monitoring coordinator reported that the foundation of the lamps, which measure around 14 meters in the case of those with four luminaires and six meters high in the case of those with one luminaire, is of a greater depth. to one meter.
The lamps have a base with welding points that completely cover the electrical installation so that they are not vandalized and thus guarantee the useful life of the luminaires.
Although there is no total cost of the work in each of the squares, it is known that the four-luminaire lamps, which have a weight ranging from 400 kilos, have an approximate cost of 110 thousand pesos, as reported by the municipal official.
The number of lamps for each square will depend on the lighting that is necessary for each of the spaces, although Juan José reported that in the case of Ajijic they already had the total number of lamps that will be installed.
Ajijic’s office manager, Timoteo Aldana, reported that there will be 12 lamps that will be installed in the Plaza del Pueblo Mágico, with four of them still missing to be placed around the kiosk.
