During last year, Hidalgo received 510,058 visitors in the 40 museums it has, which is why it was among the entities with the lowest levels in terms of proportional distribution of attendees to these cultural spaces, according to statistical data. of Museums, prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
The federal report revealed that 441,866 visitors attended the exhibitions presented in the museums, while 68,192 went to other events at the same venues, which represented an influx of 1.05 percent of the population.
According to Inegi data, Hidalgo was located in the national average in terms of museums that represented the same number of museums that were counted in the national territory, which is why the majority of visitors were women, who represented 53 percent of the total attendees, while 47 percent were men.
In the same way, 88 percent of the population who went to the museums went for guided tours, coupled with the fact that 59 percent of the people who visited these cultural venues preferred those that are free, mainly in public cultural venues.
In this regard, Adolfo Hernández, independent cultural promoter, said that greater promotion of cultural activities in museums is required, mainly in those that are managed by the state government, which is why access to the right to culture must be guaranteed. .
The cultural manager stated that special measures are needed to promote public museums, since people are unaware of the special activities and exhibitions that are developed to promote the museum billboards in the state territory.
Likewise, he regretted the lack of interest of the state authorities to encourage cultural activities, as he said that currently the state Secretariat of Culture lacks a head since the departure of Tania Meza Escorza, who participates in the current electoral process to seek a deputation. local.
