With the purpose of generating greater air connectivity and contributing to the promotion of Baja California Sur, the Loreto International Airport installed the Advisory Commission, in compliance with the Airport Law and its regulations, through Governor Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, accompanied by Juan José Padilla Olmos, general director of the Mexico City Airport Group, and Rear Admiral Salvador Cuéllar Hernández, airport administrator.

At the installation meeting it was announced that the airport obtained a favorable performance in air transportation, highlighting the increase in the arrival of passengers by air in recent years, going from 27,400 in 2021 to 84,600 at the end of 2023, which which represents a growth of 209%, reported the state government.

In this regard, the South Californian president trusted that better operation of this air port will close the cycle of economic and social growth in Loreto.

In turn, he recognized the coordination and effort to consolidate this commission which will improve promotion strategies, increasing rapprochement and teamwork with different agencies for the benefit of Mexico’s air connectivity.

The Advisory Commission was attended by businessmen from the tourism sector, airport authorities and the Armed Forces, as well as municipal and state public servants, who highlighted the importance that this commission will have to strengthen the operation of airport facilities, thereby meeting the growing demand for travelers from the rest of the country and from cities in the United States of America and Canada, mainly.
