Senators from the National Action Party (PAN) demanded the Morena-PT-Verde Ecologista candidate for the governorship of Yucatán, Joaquín ‘Huacho’ Díaz Mena, respond to the complaints that have been filed against him for the diversion and misuse of public resources, as well as for the inexplicable fortune that he has managed to accumulate in recent years.
Julen Rementería del Puerto pointed out that, in a desperate attempt to try to stop the imminent victory of Renán Barrera Concha (PAN-PRI-Nueva Alianza) on June 2, the former PAN and now Morenista senator, Raúl Paz Alonso, took advantage of a press conference in the Senate of the Republic to try to discredit the candidate of blue and white origin.
Paz Alonso, who claims to be one of the spokespersons for the Morena candidate, ‘Huacho’ Díaz Mena, launched unfounded accusations, which lack evidence and veracity, about the alleged illicit enrichment of Barrera Concha for more than 200 million pesos in real estate and land not declared to the treasury.
On this topic, Rementería del Puerto declared that it is evident, and all the polls show it, that Barrera Concha is shaping up to be the next governor of Yucatán “and that hurts them (the Morenistas) and they are no longer looking for what to do to try to avoid his defeat.”
“Senator Raúl Paz Alonso does not have evidence, much less any moral authority, since we all know his bad public reputation at the national level due to the videos of him on drunken binges and parties in adults nightclubs.
“The wound hurts because he was on the team of the current PAN candidate and next governor of Yucatán and he was isolated and was left without a candidacy due to his bad reputation in Yucatán, a state that has been very well governed by the PAN and which is an example of good results at the national level,” he highlighted.
The legislator considered that the statements are an attempt to divert attention from the countless accusations and complaints against the Morena candidate, Joaquín Díaz Mena, which are not from now, but from long before the electoral process.
“Díaz Mena is today one of the politicians with the most complaints filed against him for irregularities during his tenure and the inexplicable growth of his assets in record time,” he said.
For her part, Senator Kenia López Rabadán indicated that what is happening in Yucatán shows that, without a doubt, those from Morena are “terrified.”
“In Yucatán, the candidate who has hidden his assets is Joaquín Díaz Mena, who by the way, today it is known that he has more than 360 hectares in ranches, without being able to explain where he got the money (more than 46 million pesos) to have that extension of land. That really is crazy, it is a clear example of the abuse and misuse of power,” he added.
She recalled that Díaz Mena is being denounced by his own party colleagues, who have accused him of corruption and diversion of public resources.
