During an event that was attended by members of the Cabildo, Vice Admiral Camerino Roa Vidal, Commander of the XXVI Naval Zone, Port Captaincy authorities, managers and members of the fishing sector in the municipality, Mayor Sánchez Allec highlighted that the dredging of The Las Salinas lagoon was a commitment that as a municipal authority he made at the beginning of his administration, while recognizing that this high priority project for Zihuatanejo has begun to be fulfilled with the support of the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico and the Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda.
He considered that the support of the head of SEMAR and the head of the government of Guerrero is allowing “today we are certain that in the coming days the dredge that will remove more than 25 thousand cubic meters of sludge here will be arriving.” in the lagoon”, informing that the municipal government will be in charge of the storage and dehydration process of these sediments for their removal and subsequent transfer to the landfill.
To all the representatives of the fishing sector present there, President Sánchez Allec asked for the solidarity of each of them, “so that we can be facilitators of the work because we always generate discomfort when a process of this type is carried out. We want to ask for the support of each and every one of you, to help us in this process.”
While the president of the Tourist Services Cooperative “Lt. José Azueta”, Armando Javier Torres Martínez, recognized that the dredging of the Las Salinas lagoon is one more commitment that Mayor Jorge Sánchez Allec fulfills with the Zihuatanejo fishing sector.
Carlos Gutiérrez Farías highlighted that this project has a lot of comparison with the rescue of the Parthenon, since in both cases President Jorge Sánchez Allec has complied.
