Guanajuato registers successful participation in the first edition of History Fest in Mexico City

Actors from the tourism industry of the six Magical Towns and the municipalities of San Francisco del Rincón, Celaya and Coroneo, exhibit their products and tourist events.

Mexico City, May 27, 2024. Guanajuato was the only State that participated as a destination in the first edition of “History Fest” at the Papalote Museo del Niño, in Mexico City, showing prominent personalities from the History channel and fans of history and culture, its wide tourist offer and presenting the Guanajuato TV Series: “And you, what are you going to do?”

During a seven-hour day, the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato together with the tourism sector of the six Magical Towns: Jalpa de Cánovas, Comonfort, Salvatierra, Mineral de Pozos, Yuriria, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, and the municipalities of San Francisco del Rincón, Celaya and Coroneo, presented products, events and artistic expressions in a magnificent setting called ‘History Travel’.

Accompanied by the Marketing Directorate of SECTUR Guanajuato, Arap Bethke, Lead Actor of “And you, what are you going to do?” gave the details of the great world premiere -on April 4- of this series that shows the tourist beauty of 22 tourist destinations of the entity on History 2, the first channel created by popular demand, for those who wanted to expand their knowledge and see much more history.

In this sense, the Ministry of Tourism developed an agreement as a commercial partner with History Channel to broadcast the Guanajuato TV series, which consists of 12 premiere episodes every Thursday and 12 retransmissions on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. At the time, Jaime Guerra, General Director of A&E Networks, acknowledged that it was the first time that the channel carried out a co-production sharing content with the Guanajuato channel TV4.

On the same large stage shared with Rick Harrison and Chumlee from “The Price of History”, Doug Marcaida and Jerry Arrechea from “Desafío Sobre Fuego”, Humberto Zurita from “Inexplicable”, Jaime Maussan from “The Secret Files”, actors from The tourism industry of the Guanajuato municipalities carried out various activities.

Among them, San Francisco del Rincón presented the National Hat Fair (FENS) on June 8 and 9 at the municipality’s fairgrounds, where more than 110 exhibitors will be present offering their services and products, from hats, crafts, spirits, food , and the public will see beautiful hats presented on a catwalk.

In this first year of History Fest, the destinations of Guanajuato delighted with artistic expressions such as the Dance of Los Guamares de Comonfort; Those attending this festival witnessed a hat catwalk by San Francisco del Rincón; catwalk of coroneo overcoats, coats and capes.

In addition, the public was captivated by the show of the Mojigangas and the mariachi performing music by the Dolorense singer-songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez, and they tasted typical sweets and bought typical crafts from the State such as baskets, molcajetes and masks. Likewise, SECTUR carried out an activation with the Great Stories Suitcase, which “carries” State advertising.

SECTUR also raised awareness through the “AGUAnajuato, surely you come back responsibly” campaign, where attendees could refill their water cylinders while they were given a talk on responsible water consumption and, in addition, they learned about the work it does. Guanajuato through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
