
An average stay of just 1.27 days ended up representing a spill of 51 thousand 592 million pesos.
The main destination was León with 1 million 805 thousand visitors, followed by San Miguel de Allende with 1 million 452 thousand, Yuriria with 1 million 411 thousand, Guanajuato capital with 1 million 077 thousand and in fifth place Celaya with 999 visitors registered in 2023.
45.9 percent of these tourists are of national origin, 41.7 state and only 12.4 percent are of international origin.
As for the main state visitors, 15.1 percent are from León, 12.5 from Celaya, 8.1 from Guanajuato capital, Irapuato with 7.1 percent and Salamanca with 5.2 percent. Of the other states, 18 percent are from Mexico City, 9.3 from Jalisco, 9.2 from Querétaro, followed by those from the State of Mexico with 8.7 percent and those from Michoacán with 8 percent.
Those of foreign origin mostly come from the United States, accounting for 51.9 percent, followed for the first time by those from Colombia with 7.5 percent, from Spain with 6.5 percent, Canada with 6 percent and in fifth place are those from Argentina with 3.4 percent.
The most prominent tourist segments are cultural and leisure with 34.5 and 31.5 percent, adventure with 7.1 percent, business with 6.7 percent and shopping with 6.3 percent.
In terms of opinions, respondents considered security to be the most disappointing issue, as indicated by 39 percent. The second most disappointing item was the lack of activities and entertainment options with 19.5 percent, followed by outdoor venues and areas with 14.6 percent.
In the question about what they enjoyed most, 21.5 percent mentioned everything, 11 percent the food, 8.7 percent the tranquility or the atmosphere. In terms of what could be improved, 17.4 percent said the activities and entertainment options, 15.8 percent said security, and thirdly, cleanliness and maintenance with nine percent.
