Furniture exports from Mexico increased 65 percent to the United States in recent years.

Mexico is the first exporter of furniture in Latin America and occupies the fifth place worldwide overcoming the sales of the manufacturers of Denmark, Sweden and the United States, reveals association of furniture manufacturers of Jalisco (Afamjal).
“This reflects the sustained growth and competitiveness of the national furniture industry, strengthening its position in the international market,” said Jorge Ríos Gutiérrez, president of Afamjal.
He added that today the value of furniture sales from Mexico abroad exceeds 12,700 million dollars a year.
The United States is the main buyer of Mexican furniture, since exports to that country have increased more than 65 percent in the last five years.
For several years, the sale of furniture from Mexico in the United States already exceeds the growth of its Asian rivals such as China, Malaysia and Indonesia.
According to the business leader, Mexico has consolidated its role as the main destination for foreign direct investment, since there is a growing confidence of global investors in the economic stability of the Nation and its potential for business expansion.
The greatest arrival of foreign investment to the Mexican economy is essentially due to operations derived by Nearshoring, he said.
To continue promoting the development of the furniture industry sector globally, the president of Afamjal urged to participate in Expo International Expo in its summer edition, which will take place from August 14 to 17 at Expo Guadalajara.
The exhibition will be attended by more than 500 exhibitors that will occupy an exhibition space in specialized rooms and pavilions: Jalisco Salon, México Salon, Mexico Design and the textile pavilion.
