According to José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, president of the Association of Hotels and Motels 3 Islas, reservations for the summer vacation period are beginning to be registered and will gain momentum as the dates draw closer.
There are positive expectations, and the surge in hotel room reservations may occur during the course of this month.
Precisely, there is a good expectation among tourists who seek to vacation in Mazatlán due to the attractions it offers.
Over a month before the start of the vacation period, it is already confirmed that people are interested in vacationing in the municipality, particularly starting from the second week of July, coinciding with the beginning of summer vacations.
The hotel industry leader mentioned that a slight increase in reservations for the sector is expected to begin in June.
For the vacation period starting on July 16, visitors are anticipated primarily from states surrounding Mazatlán, including Durango, Nuevo León, Chihuahua, and Coahuila.
In this context, it is asserted that these tourists utilize the Mazatlán-Durango highway, which shortens transportation times.
Additionally, during these vacation days in the port, tourists are expected to come from states such as Sonora, Guanajuato, Nayarit, Jalisco, and even Mexico City.
Given the extended vacation period, reservations are likely to remain steady from Monday to Thursday, while demand for hotel rooms will significantly increase from Friday to Sunday.
“The weekday behavior could be around 74% to 76%, whereas on weekends, it would rise to 92% to 94%, which is a substantial figure.”
José Ramón Manguart Sánchez noted that the current weekend has maintained a hotel occupancy rate between 70% and 80%.
He clarified that 100% of the visitors currently vacationing in the municipality since last Friday are of national origin, coming from states near Sinaloa.
