Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin will be the special guest for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 2024 Veracruz Carnival.
The mayor of the port of Veracruz, Paty Lobeira de Yunes, confirmed that the singer will give a mega open-air concert in the Malecón macroplaza. “We say this with great pleasure, with great joy and hoping that everyone is equally happy,” she said.
The Puerto Rican will join a lineup confirmed by the Mexican band Matute, the reggaeton singer Wisin and the Colombian Carlos Vives. During the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 2024 Veracruz Carnival, which will take place from June 26 to July 2 in the metropolitan area of Veracruz-Bica del Río, the Queen of Joy will be the singer from Veracruz, Yuri.
The mayor recalled that the concerts are free, as part of the City Council’s effort to provide a festive atmosphere to Veracruzans and visitors.
The festival takes place annually in the metropolitan area of Veracruz-Boca del Río, the state’s tourist region par excellence. The five and a half kilometers of the coastal boardwalk will feature parades of troupes, baton twirlers and drum bands, in addition to a program of massive concerts.
