More than a thousand attendees are expected at the 15th Gay Pride and Sexual Diversity Parade 2024, which will take place on Saturday, June 22 in Mazatlán, as highlighted by Tulio Martínez, the president of Sinaloa Diverso.
Following a meeting with the municipal president, Édgar González Zataráin, it was announced that they will support the event in obtaining the necessary permits.
Additionally, the mayor has accepted to participate in the parade alongside the LGBTQ+ community. This marks the first time that a mayor has joined the parade, according to Tulio.
The Institute of Culture will also participate with 15 allegorical floats. The parade will start at 5:00 PM from the Sánchez Taboada roundabout and proceed towards Valentinos.
At Valentinos, the participants will disembark from the floats and head to Playa Pacifico, where the crowning of “Turbulence” and “Burrita Burrona” will take place. The event will feature the influencer and singer Yuri Mua as a guest artist.
During the meeting with the Mazatlán mayor, they also discussed the case of Emma Rodríguez Choreño, the director of IMMUJER, who was accused of homophobic behavior. It was informed that the investigation by the Internal Control Body is still ongoing.
