Despite its strong presence in the legislature, the PAN will need to work together with other parties to ensure the approval of key projects.

According to the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP) of the Electoral Institute of the State of Guanajuato (IEEG), and as of 11:15 a.m. on June 3, 88 percent of the votes have been captured.

The preliminary results indicate a significant distribution of districts among the main parties.

National Action Party (PAN)
The PAN is set to win 11 of the 22 majority districts in the state of Guanajuato. This result reinforces the dominant position of the PAN in the region, consolidating its political influence.

PAN-PRI-PRD Coalition
The coalition formed by the PAN, the PRI and the PRD has managed to obtain victory in three additional districts. Adding these to the districts won by the PAN, the coalition reaches a total of 14 majority districts, strengthening its presence in the local legislature.

Morena-PVEM-PT Coalition
The coalition made up of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) and the Labor Party (PT) has managed to win in eight local electoral districts. These districts are mainly located in the Laja-Bajío Zone, a region that has been the scene of high-impact criminal acts recently.

Citizen Movement (MC)
The Citizen Movement (MC) party failed to win in any of the majority electoral districts. This result reflects a lack of sufficient support to win districts in the current competition.

Distribution of Proportional Representation Deputies
Once the official counts of the election are concluded, the remaining 14 deputies corresponding to the proportional representation route will be assigned. This assignment will be based on the percentage of votes obtained by each party at the polls.

How did the current legislature turn out?

Currently, the legislature of the state of Guanajuato is made up as follows:

PAN: 21 deputies
Morena: 8 deputies
PRI: 4 deputies
PVEM: 2 deputies
Movimiento Ciudadano: 1 deputy

These preliminary results of the PREP reflected the electoral dynamics in Guanajuato and the distribution of power among the main parties and coalitions.
