Traffic is in reverse while Capufe personnel rehabilitate the section where the passenger bus caught fire

After the strong fire that completely consumed a passenger bus on the Mazatlán-Durango highway, traffic is in reverse while they finish removing the remains of the unit.
The incident that occurred near the Mesillas toll booth, Concordia, has kept the personnel of Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe) working since around midnight, to rehabilitate the asphalt and avoid accidents
Until before 6:00 a.m., it was reported that they were about to remove the remains of the bus, which was left alone in a shell on one side of the north-south lane, at kilometer 215 of the highway.
According to the information, both the driver and the assistant of the Turistar line passenger truck, apparently bound for Mazatlán, realized that fire began to come out of the engine, so they pulled the unit over and managed to get to safety; fortunately the unit was not carrying any more passengers.
When the emergency number was reported, Capufe personnel from the Mesillas toll booth, as well as elements of Municipal Civil Protection and Volunteer Firefighters from Concordia, responded and began to attack the flames that had already spread throughout the unit. Minutes later, two trucks from Veteran Firefighters from Villa Unión and El Castillo arrived to support them.
After putting out and extinguishing the fire, with the support of elements of the National Guard Highway Division, they installed preventive flags at the site and began to clear traffic on both lanes in the opposite direction.
It was hoped to finish the work of removing the remains of the bus and rehabilitate the damaged asphalt infrastructure, so that traffic on both lanes returns to normal.
