The governor of the state, Mauricio Kuri González, led the presentation of the fourteenth edition of the Querétaro Marathon 2024, which will take place on October 6 and for which the participation of 18,500 runners in the various categories is expected.
In his message, the state leader highlighted that this marathon, which follows a route at distances of 42, 21, 10 and five kilometers in the municipalities of Querétaro and Corregidora, aims to promote sports. For her part, the director of Indereq, Iridia Salazar Blanco, reported that this marathon is intended to be one of the five best in Mexico, by providing the best services to runners.
The State Police, municipal police, the State Health Secretariat, the Mexican Red Cross, firefighters and 600 people who join in the organization of the same will participate in the Querétaro Marathon. The authorities called on Queretaro residents to take to the streets and adopt this athletic festival. Registration will begin at the end of June on the website queretaromaraton.com and the costs are 650 pesos for the 42 kilometers, 550 pesos for 21 kilometers and 460 pesos for the distances of 10 and 5 kilometers.
This year the prize money to be distributed to the winners of each category and distance will be 1.5 million pesos. And on June 17, training will begin at Parque Querétaro 2000 and at the Olympic Stadium, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
