On the morning of Monday, June 10, a body was hung on the highway that connects Tuxtla Gutiérrez with Ocozocoautla

The Chiapas and Guatemala Cartel (CCyG) is one of the criminal cells that is dedicated to criminal activities within the state. This Monday, June 10, another act of violence occurred where the criminal organization claimed responsibility for the crime: on the highway that connects the capital of Chiapas with Ocozocoautla, a corpse was found hanging from a bridge.
It was the drivers themselves who informed the authorities about the presence of a hanging corpse. This occurred at 06:00 hours, so police forces went to the crime scene to verify the facts, which were later confirmed.
At the crime scene, the hanging corpse was found, it was wrapped in several layers of plastic. The victim is still unknown. According to the local press, a threatening message signed by the CCyG was found at that location. This card intimidated Gabriela Zepeda Soto, Francisco Javier Orantes Abadía and Roberto Jair Hernández Terán; in addition to Jesús Estaban Machado Meza.
Who are the people threatened by the CCyG?
Three people who appeared in this message are active officials of Chiapas, Gabriela Zepeda Soto is the current director of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSyPC) of the state; Francisco Javier Orantes Abadía is the undersecretary of this agency and Roberto Jair is the commissioner in charge of directing the State Border Police.
Regarding Machado Meza, alias “El Güero Pulsera” or “La Tuerca” he is identified as the alleged operator of the Sinaloa Cartel in Chiapas and receives orders from Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada.
Who is the Chiapas and Guatemala Cartel?
The state of Chiapas has stopped being a quiet state for months now. For the Mexican cartels, the border strip that connects with Guatemala is very important for the transfer of drugs and migrants. The Chiapas Guatemala Cartel (CCG) operates in this area. This organization has said that it belongs to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG).
The CCG, through videos released in April, threatened the governor of Chiapas, Rutilio Escandón Cadenas, and the head of the SSyPC, Gabriela Zepeda. In this threat, the criminal cell also threatened the mass murder of police officers.
It is important to note that the so-called four-letter cartel, CJNG, has no presence in Chiapas. However, the way in which this organization operates in other entities is through local cartels, which use them as an armed wing and allies.
Their relationship has not been documented by security forces in Mexico, but videos leaked on social media show the relationship between the CJNG and the CCG.
