The Government of the State of Oaxaca announced that through state administration agencies, the physical conditions of the work that houses the Álvaro Carrillo Cultural Center will be evaluated.
Under instructions from Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Communications (Sinfra) and the Secretariat of Honesty, Transparency and Public Function will be responsible for assessing the recovered property, the government of Oaxaca reported in a statement.
Sinfra will be responsible for determining the current conditions of the space, with the objective of giving it a later use.
Meanwhile, the Secretariat of Honesty, Transparency and Public Function will verify and compare what is established in the technical file, the physical inspection and the accounting file.
This is because during the previous government administration, 360 million pesos were paid for this unfinished work, for which responsibilities must be determined.
The Álvaro Carrillo Cultural Center is located on the corner of Francisco I. Madero and Tecnológico avenues in the municipality of Oaxaca de Juárez and was built by the company Ingenieros Civiles Asociados (ICA), which refused to hand it over and prevented access to it through private security; in addition, the State Government was sued for allegedly refusing the process of handing over and receiving this work.
As a result, the Legal Department of the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Communications, with the support of the Legal Counsel and Legal Assistance, headed by Geovany Vázquez Sagrero, promoted a search warrant before the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Corruption of the State of Oaxaca (FEMCCO).
