The Baja California Tourism Secretariat and the Volaris airline have announced the launch of a new international flight, which will have a direct route in Tijuana and the famous city of Las Vegas. This line will begin operating on October 29, and ticket sales will begin this June 12.
According to data from the Baja California Visitor Profile 2022-2023, Nevada is positioned as the third largest tourist-sending market to the region, after California and Arizona. This new air route will further facilitate access to the tourist attractions of Baja California, strengthening the cultural and economic ties between Tijuana and Las Vegas.
The Governor of the State of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, said: “We are pleased to see how Baja California’s connectivity continues to grow, allowing more people to discover the great wonders of our region, while we fulfill our commitment to reestablish international flights to Tijuana. I wholeheartedly thank Volaris for contributing to this increase in connectivity and for joining our effort to generate well-being for all Baja Californians.”
Tijuana, a multicultural and diverse border city, has established itself as one of the main tourist destinations in Mexico, thanks to its strategic location, innovative gastronomy and its leadership in health and wellness tourism.
In this regard, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism for the state, commented: “We are deeply grateful to Volaris for its continued trust in Baja California by inaugurating this new international flight. This collaboration strengthens our connectivity with key markets and opens the doors to new opportunities for tourism and economic development in our region.”
For his part, Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President of Volaris, said: “At Volaris we are always looking for more and better travel options for our Clients, as well as offering unparalleled flight experiences, meeting the demand of a market with high potential such as Las Vegas. Thus, we once again fulfill our objective of increasingly diversifying our offer of destinations for the benefit of our Clients on both sides of the border.”
The Baja California Tourism Secretariat and Volaris invite those interested to take advantage of this new travel option, which promises to enrich the region’s tourism offering and complement the extensive connectivity of the Tijuana International Airport.
