This Monday, June 10, feminist groups marched in Huatulco, Oaxaca, to demand justice for the death of a young woman named Fernanda Catalán who was found dead at the entrance to El Tejón beach last Sunday.
Fernanda was a young woman who had recently graduated from a degree in public accounting, who with great effort managed to obtain her professional license to achieve her professional goals.
The feminist groups marched from the Santa Cruz Huatulco municipal agency to the Local Prosecutor’s Office in Bahías de Huatulco, where with slogans such as “The police do not take care of me, my friends take care of me” they sought a dialogue with the authorities to deliver a document in which they request improvements in the safe woman protocol, being one of the 40 municipalities with a gender alert.
The request, they indicated, had already been delivered in 2021, without receiving a favorable response, which is why they decided to deliver it for the second time, seeking to stop violence and feminicides within the municipality.
