In this article we will review what the current fuel trend is, which leads directly to observing the price of gasoline in Querétaro and how much it has increased.

How much has the price of gasoline increased in Querétaro?
If you are one of those who have noticed an increase in the price of gasoline in Querétaro, you are not alone… fuel has suffered an increase on the national scene. Here we tell you how much this modification has been, as well as some possible causes associated or not with it.
Well, based on data from Inegi, the price of gasoline has increased a certain percentage since 2018, which is around 18.25% for low-octane Magna gasoline. For its part, high-octane Premium gasoline has registered an increase of 19%.
If we focus on the price of gasoline in Querétaro, obviously, the above has an impact. Just yesterday Friday, “green” gasoline was around 23.03 pesos, while today it dawned at 23.13; as for “red”, it increased 14 cents from yesterday to today. Finally, diesel increased from 24.59 to 24.66 pesos.
Whether the price of gasoline in Querétaro, as in all of Mexico, will rise and by how much, we cannot know, as it would be based on market speculation; for now, we can tell you two factors that are driving costs in the capital. One of them is the high demand for fuel, an aspect associated with the industrial activity of the city. In a second aspect, we will see how much the price of the dollar is affecting the price of gasoline in recent days.
Demand for gasoline increased in Querétaro
Despite efforts to promote the energy transition towards cleaner technologies and the use of electric cars, experts predict that the demand for fuels such as gasoline and diesel will continue to increase until at least 2037, this in the national panorama.
This increase is attributed to the slow adoption of electric vehicles and the lack of adequate infrastructure, as well as a poor public transportation system. As a result, fossil fuel consumption will continue to be driven by freight transport and industry.
As for diesel, daily consumption is expected to rise from 350 thousand to more than 400 thousand barrels, due to the growth in the freight transport industry, trade and manufacturing, especially with the nearshoring phenomenon, which has gained strength in Querétaro in recent years.
Does the price of the dollar cause the increase in the price of gasoline?
While it is true that the fluctuation in the peso-dollar parity will have an impact on the cost of gasoline in Mexico, this effect will not manifest itself immediately. Eventually, this could occur because a significant portion of the gasoline sold in the country is imported; in this case, the fluctuation of the dollar affects the cost of these imports.
