‘The Russians’ hang narco-banners in Baja California and warn the Navy: ‘You are going to see Mexicali burn’

The messages found in Mexicali were signed by the “Russian and P1 Revolutionary Forces,” allegedly linked to the Sinaloa Cartel

Outside an elementary school located in the valley of Mexicali, Baja California, a message attributed to a criminal group was found, in which a warning was issued to the Navy (Semar).

Preliminary reports indicate that on Sunday morning, around 7:20 a.m., a white poster was found signed by the “Ruso and P1 Revolutionary Forces,” allegedly linked to the faction of the Sinaloa Cartel headed by Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada.

The narco-message was placed outside the Ruiz Cortínez elementary school, located on Tercera Street and Venustiano Carranza in the city of Guadalupe Victoria, according to reports from Zeta Tijuana. Municipal Police officers who were patrolling the area noticed the poster and proceeded to remove it.

“MARINOS, don’t look for him here, Mexicali and its valley are calm, if you want it to continue like this, lower your balls or you will see MEXICALI burn (sic),” reads the message accompanied by a flag with the colors white, blue and red, in reference to the cell of Los Rusos.

On social networks, the image of another narco-banner with a similar message and typography circulated. The only difference was that instead of “Mexicali” it read “San Luis.” The place where this second banner was placed is unknown, so it has not been proven if it refers to the town of San Luis, which is located in the municipality of Mexicali.

The deployment of these narco-messages occurs a few days after an operation was registered with which they supposedly sought to capture Alfonso Peralta, a criminal operator who is better known as “P1” and/or “Ponchito de Lima.”

Although the alleged capture of “P1” was reported two days ago after an operation deployed at kilometer 57, Baja California authorities have not confirmed it. Likewise, his name does not appear in the National Registry of Arrests (RND) of the Secretariat of Public and Citizen Security (SSPC).

Alfonso Peralta is part of the “persons of interest” who are under the scrutiny of the State Force of Citizen Security (FESC), due to his alleged involvement in criminal acts that occurred in the border state.

In mid-February of this year, the FESC shared images and names of 11 people who are allegedly part of the cell of Los Rusos, linked to the Sinaloa Cartel. In addition to Alfonso Peralta, alias ‘P1’, Jesús Alexander Sánchez Félix and/or Juan José Ponce Félix, alias ‘El Ruso’, also appear, who is also under the scrutiny of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States (USA).

‘El Ruso’ is accused of being involved in drug trafficking activities, mainly. To avoid being identified by the authorities, he uses four different names. According to FBI reports, he was born in 1982 and operates in the municipality of Mexicali.

The other crimes in the US that link ‘El Ruso’ are: organized crime, conspiracy to take hostages, distribution of controlled substances, money laundering and use of firearms.

The cell of Los Rusos operates at the service of ‘El Mayo’ Zambada, for which reason it maintains a dispute with Los Chapitos, as the faction of the Sinaloa Cartel is known, which is led by the sons of drug trafficker Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán, who is serving a life sentence in the US.

The other subjects who were also identified as persons of interest by the FESC are: Jesús Gilberto Peralta, alias ‘El 02’; Israel Leonardo Trigueros; Javier Gabriel Mora Pino, alias ‘Piruja’; Gerardo Rueda Torres, alias ‘Tochin’; Carlos Alberto Villaman Luna, alias ‘El 61’; Jesus Aaron Barraza Estrada, Joshua Godinez Fernandez, alias ‘Pitufo’; Jose Manuel Cortez Islas, alias ‘Vallarta’, and June Antonio Astorga, alias ‘El J5’.
