Mexico is a beautiful country, with warm and entrepreneurial people, but it is also a country with geographical characteristics and natural resources like few nations in the world. It has many opportunities to continue growing as an economic and industrial power, both to enrich the region and to boost its growth towards other continents.

The automotive industry in Mexico is robust and in continuous evolution. In the country alone there are 39 plants that produce cars for more than 12 brands recognized in the American continent. It has a solid supply chain, proven logistics routes, qualified labor and global trade agreements that make it an attractive manufacturing center. On the other hand, Taiwan as a commercial partner of Mexico in the automotive sector, stands out for its technological leadership and capabilities in electronics and semiconductors, key elements for the vehicles of the future.

On July 10, 11 and 12 at Centro Banamex in Mexico, 12 prestigious Taiwanese brands will meet at INA PAACE AUTOMECHANIKA 2024 in Hall D at Booth 4135 where visitors will be able to experience unmatched quality in person in a friendly business and commercial environment. The brands present are:

The nearshoring phenomenon with the United States has opened up new opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Mexico and Taiwan in the automotive and auto parts sector. Given the growing global and regional demand for autonomous, electric and hybrid vehicles, both nations are emerging as strategic partners to promote more sustainable mobility.

In January 2024, Mexico recorded an unprecedented level of light vehicle production, with more than 300 thousand units manufactured, which represents, according to public data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), an increase of 9.6% compared to January 2023.

Additionally, the export of light vehicles reached record figures, achieving in the first month of the year a shipment abroad of more than 250 thousand cars, which represented 6.8% more for Mexico compared to the same period of the previous year.

Taiwanese companies seek to take advantage of the Mexican production platform to produce and export state-of-the-art autonomous, electric and hybrid vehicles to the US market. At the same time, Mexican manufacturers will have access to advanced components and systems developed by Taiwan, which would allow them to stay at the technological forefront and offer more competitive products. Let us consider in this equation that Taiwan is the world’s leading producer of microprocessors.
