Nuevo León and Tamaulipas managed to recover the level of their rivers and dams after the passage of storm Alberto and users of networks celebrated it

Alberto entered Mexico as a tropical storm early Thursday morning at 4:30 a.m. Central Mexico time, in the municipality of Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, the Ministry of the Environment reported in a statement.

Its arrival has had some positive aspects, since in the face of the constant water crisis in several regions of the country, some dams and rivers have improved their conditions.

States such as Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, and some areas of Chiapas, Durango, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Veracruz and Zacatecas will still have constant rains, which can cause an increase in the levels of rivers and streams.

On the other hand, the National Hurricane Center of the United States reported that the meteorological phenomenon is expected to degrade to a tropical depression as it advances through Mexico.

Rivers and dams recover after the passage of storm Alberto
Through several TikTok accounts, some users shared videos of rivers that before the arrival of storm Alberto remained dry or had very low levels, but now the panorama has changed.

One of them is the Santa Catarina River in Nuevo León, which had a significant change after the passage of the tropical storm.

The “La Silla” River, also in Nuevo León, recovered large amounts of water after the arrival of the meteorological system.

The “La Boca” dam located there in royal lands, recovered the water intake levels after the rains of the early hours of this Thursday.

In Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, the “Cascadas de La Boca” reappeared after years of remaining without waterfalls.

On the other hand, storm Alberto also left human losses. In different municipalities of Nuevo León, four people lost their lives as a result of the meteorological system.

A man was electrocuted while carrying out an electrical repair at his own home in the municipality of El Carmen, in Monterrey. He is estimated to have been between 30 and 40 years old.

In the municipality of Monterrey, a 15-year-old boy fell into the La Silla River while playing soccer.

The other two deceased, also electrocuted, are two 12-year-old boys who were riding a bicycle in the municipality of Allende.
