Japan Festival in Mexico City: when it will be and what activities there will be

Japanese culture has become increasingly important in Mexico, which is why the Japan Festival will soon be held in Mexico City (CDMX).

This event seeks to show a little more about the culture that exists in Japan and that many people from other countries have been adopting, such as cosplays, music and anime.

When and where will the Japan Festival be?

It was announced that this festival will take place on August 17 and 18, 2024.

The place where fans of this type of culture should go will be Tezozómoc Park, located in the Azcapotzalco municipality.

The Azcapotzalco mayor’s office shared the announcement of this event through social networks and shared: “Come and experience Japanese culture in Azcapotzalco! We invite you to the Japan Festival this August 17 and 18 in Tezozomoc Park. Enjoy art exhibits, traditional music, delicious food and much more. Don’t miss it!”

What activities will there be during the Japan Festival?

The activities that can be enjoyed during this event are:

  • Geisha and Samurai Show
  • Cosplay Contest
  • Best Characterized Geisha Contest
  • Best J-Pop Dance Choreography Contest
  • Crazy Japanese-Themed Hairstyle Contest

In addition to the above, there will be the special participation of voice actress Ana Lobo, who has become known for giving voice to characters such as Ahome Higurashi in the anime Inuyasha and Mikasa Ackerman in Attack on Titan.

It is important to mention that the activities that will take place are for the whole family and completely free.
