Good news for lovers of good food, on July 16, 2024, the dates of the 9th Butifarra festival were announced, as well as all the details of this long-awaited gastronomic event by all Tabasco residents.
At a press conference, the municipal president of Jalpa de Méndez, Nuris López Sánchez, accompanied by Eng. José Friedrich García Mallitz, head of the Secretariat for Economic Development and Competitiveness of the Government of the State of Tabasco, reported that the celebration of this ancestral delicacy will take place from August 16 to 18, in this town that expects to receive 90 thousand visitors, both local and national.
López Sánchez indicated that for this 2024 edition, an event is prepared that is not only gastronomic, but one that allows the whole family to have fun.
“We are ready to receive more than 90 thousand visitors, the exclusivity of the Jalpa de Méndez butifarra will fall on presenting products originating from the town,” said the mayor.
Breaking records
In addition to making official the appointment of butifarra as an original product with rights, the Mayor said that during the three days that the festival will last, the supply of the product will be guaranteed, “it has been contemplated that 30 tons of products will be offered so that the entire event will be covered.”
She recalled that last year the participating chefs managed to sell about 27 tons, even though the goal was 25 tons.
As part of the entertainment, she detailed that there will be a national and local cast for the delight of the attendees, among which the presentation of the comedians “La Jitomata and La Perejila” stands out, as well as the singer Raúl Ornelas.
