Aguascalientes is positioned as one of the safest states in Mexico, according to the National Survey of Urban Public Security of the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Informatics (INEGI), corresponding to the second quarter of 2024. The results reveal that a high percentage of residents feel safe living in this entity.
The positive perception of security in Aguascalientes is attributed to the coordinated work between local security corporations. These actions have contributed to maintaining tranquility in the area, consolidating Aguascalientes as a benchmark for security at the national level.
The INEGI survey, which is applied quarterly, measures the perception of security of residents in different cities of the country, taking into account factors such as collaboration between different security forces and the effectiveness of implemented operations. In this context, Aguascalientes stands out for its joint efforts and well-executed strategies.
Aguascalientes has implemented various security policies that range from increased patrols and the installation of surveillance cameras, to collaboration with citizens for crime prevention. These measures have been highlighted by security specialists as key to improving the perception and reality of security in the state.
The governor of Aguascalientes, María Teresa Jiménez Esquivel, and the mayor of the state capital, Leo Montañez Castro, have highlighted the favorable results of the joint work they have carried out, according to several media outlets. Both authorities indicated their commitment to continue guaranteeing the security and tranquility of families in the region.
In a recent statement, both officials reiterated the importance of the security operations coordinated by the State Public Security Secretariat and the Public Security Secretariat of the Municipality of Aguascalientes. These operations, which include collaboration with the National Guard and other agencies, are carried out in both urban and rural areas to maintain order and peace in the state.
Manuel Alonso García, Secretary of Public Security of the State, and Antonio Martínez Romo, head of the Public Security Secretariat of the Municipality of Aguascalientes, indicated that they will intensify surveillance efforts. They also mentioned that more resources will be allocated to the training and ongoing education of police forces, as well as to the modernization and acquisition of new technologies.
