COVID-19 Overview in Mexico: States with the Most Cases and Deaths

The Epidemiology Directorate of the federal Ministry of Health (Ssa) released information on COVID-19 infections and deaths in Mexico. Below, on Unotv.com we tell you the states in which the most cases are registered.

In a weekly report, the authorities reported 12 deaths in the last week, but there was no increase, according to the figures.

In this regard, the Ministry of Health reported that so far in 2024, there are 410 deaths from COVID-19.

Regarding infections, last week at the national level, the federal Ministry of Health reported 948 cases of coronavirus in Mexico, 219 more than the penultimate record of 729 cases.

In total, there are 9,269 COVID infections so far in 2024.

However, the agency indicated that cases are 32% less compared to the same weeks last year.

Entities with the most cases of COVID-19
The entities with the most cases of COVID-19 are:

Mexico City 25%
Nuevo León 8.5%
Querétaro 8%
State of Mexico 8%
Puebla 4.1%

The preliminary positivity of the viral disease now shows a downward change.

States with the most deaths from COVID-19

Deaths from this disease were mainly recorded in the following entities:

Mexico City 15.3%
Puebla 8.3%
Jalisco 6.8%
State of Mexico 5.8%
Hidalgo 5.4%
In the rest of the entities: 58.4%
