The night shift supervisor of the Guadalajara Municipal Police Station, Juan José Gutiérrez Navarro, was shot to death while driving his private vehicle. His minor children, aged 10 and 11, witnessed the attack.
The investigation states that Gutiérrez Navarro was being chased along the highway to Chapala, until his attackers caught up with him in the exit lanes of the city, near the Brisas de Chapala neighborhood, near a gas station, where the gunmen shot him in the head.
The body of the commander of the Poseidón 5 operational key, was left on the front seat of his dark-colored truck, which has bullet holes in the body and its windows; his children were unharmed and were treated for a nervous breakdown.
On May 11, this municipal police officer arrested a man in the Rancho Nuevo neighborhood who was accused of brutally beating a painter from the Movimiento Ciudadano party, who was erasing Morena advertising from a wall.
Regarding this incident, a video was spread on social media in which the subject, identified as Diego “N”, threatened to kill the commander and assured him that he belonged to a criminal group.
Previously, Gutiérrez Navarro had already suffered an attack, when on April 14, 2019, he was shot outside his house, in the Balcones de Oblatos neighborhood; the attackers hit him 13 times and he was taken to a hospital in serious condition. At that time, he was serving as commander of the Gamas Motorized Squadron of the Guadalajara police.
