As part of the initiatives to strengthen security in Guanajuato, the State Public Security Secretariat reports significant progress in its actions during the month of July. During this period, 12 firearms, both short and long, were seized and 10 people related to these crimes were arrested.
The seizures were carried out in seven municipalities of the state, highlighting the following:
Celaya: 1 long firearm caliber .223, 2 long weapons caliber 7.62, 1 shotgun caliber .12, 325 cartridges of various calibers, 7 magazines of different calibers and 1 ballistic helmet.
Irapuato: 1 handgun caliber .25, 1 handgun caliber .20, 1 magazine caliber .25 and 1 magazine caliber .20.
León: 1 handgun caliber .40, 4 cartridges caliber .40 and 1 magazine caliber .40.
Abasolo: 1 .25 caliber handgun, 50 .25 caliber cartridges and 1 .25 caliber magazine.
San José de Iturbide: 1 .357 Magnum caliber revolver-type handgun, 1 homemade handgun and 4 .22 caliber cartridges.
Juventino Rosas: 1 .9 mm caliber handgun, 11 .9 mm caliber cartridges and 1 .9 mm caliber magazine.
Regarding the seizure of drugs, the authorities removed a total of 6,163 doses of illicit substances from the streets in 15 municipalities, including marijuana, crystal, base crack, cocaine and cannabinoids. The quantities seized were:
Marijuana: 3,467 doses.
Crystal: 2,421 doses.
Base crack: 258 doses.
Cocaine: 14 doses.
Cannabinoids: 3 doses.
As a result, 73 people were arrested and placed at the disposal of the competent authority. The main arrests were made in Acámbaro, Abasolo, Apaseo el Alto, Celaya, Cortazar, Dolores Hidalgo, Irapuato, Juventino Rosas, León, San José de Iturbide, San Luis de la Paz, San Diego de la Unión, San Miguel de Allende, Tarandacuao and Villagrán.
In addition, with the support of technological tools, 24 motor vehicles and 41 motorcycles with reports of theft or alteration in their serial numbers were seized. In these operations, 24 people were arrested and placed at the disposal of the authorities.
The State Public Security Secretariat reaffirms its commitment to building peace and tranquility in Guanajuato through these ongoing security actions.
