Seven bars in downtown Guanajuato closed for violating regulations

Seven bars in the center of Guanajuato capital were closed for violating municipal regulations, according to the Secretary of Citizen Security, Samuel Ugalde.

He indicated that as a result of the operation ‘Descuelgue’ carried out on the night of Friday the 2nd and early Saturday morning in these establishments, eight people were arrested for administrative offenses and seven establishments were closed for violating current regulations.

During the operation, 21 bars and 170 people were checked. It was carried out from 9:00 pm on Friday to 2:00 am on Saturday.

The municipal official assured that the operation is to guarantee that bars and alcoholic beverage stores operate in accordance with the guidelines established by the Inspection area and to avoid situations that imply any risk for people who attend to enjoy themselves.

Samuel Ugalde said that inspections of bars are carried out frequently to generate conditions of trust and security in the historic center, where the largest number of attractions of this internationally renowned tourist destination are concentrated.

In addition to Ugalde, the operation was led by the deputy secretary for operations, Luis Gamba; the police commissioner, Mauricio Vázquez; and the director of Inspection, Gustavo Bück.
