6-year-old boy dies from bee stings in Los Mochis, Sinaloa

In a new attack by a swarm of bees, in a vacant lot in the Prado Bonito subdivision, in the city of Los Mochis, a six-year-old boy named Victor “N” died in a hospital due to the excessive number of stings he received all over his body.

During the last fifteen days, in the municipalities of Ahome and Guasave there have been similar attacks by these insects, one of the previous cases took place in the community of Trinidad, in Guasave, where a farm worker, Juan Diego “N”, 37 years old, had to be admitted to the IMSS-Bienestar hospital.

Regarding the case of the minor, from the Prado Bonito subdivision, in the city of Los Mochis, municipality of Ahome, it was reported that the victim, along with a friend, went to play in a vacant lot on Prado Grande Street and when moving an old tire, hundreds of bees came out and attacked them.

The friend of the boy Victor “N”, only six years old, managed to quickly run to the street, but he was unable to get out, being attacked by hundreds of bees, so it was necessary for Civil Protection personnel with special equipment to go in to rescue him.

The rescue teams transferred him to a nearby hospital, in the city of Los Mochis, where he died after 24 hours, due to the serious injuries caused to him and the degree of intoxication that he presented.

According to reports, on July 27, nine cases of bee swarm attacks were accumulated in two municipalities in the north of the state. One of the cases was that of Juan Diego “N”, a farm worker, who had to be transported in a private vehicle to a hospital where he was admitted.

In a previous case that took place in the community of Grullas Margen Derecha, in the municipality of Higueras de Zaragoza, in Ahome, police officers had to rescue three adults and two minors from their home who were being attacked by a swarm of angry bees.

The security officers who received strong stings managed to save the five members of a family, who received attention from paramedics from the Ahome Emergency Medical Services.

According to the version of the inhabitants of said community, the attack was surprising, since the three adults and the two minors were inside their home when hundreds of these insects entered and attacked them.
