57 hectares will be expropriated for the Maya Train in QRoo, Campeche and Tabasco

The federal government decreed the expropriation of 57 hectares of different municipalities in Quintana Roo, Campeche and Tabasco, in favor of the construction of railway infrastructure works for the Mayan Train.

Through four decrees published in the evening edition of the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), it was stated that “an area covering more than 57 hectares of common use of different ejidos in the region is expropriated for reasons of public utility.”

In a first decree, the expropriation of 13 hectares in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas in Quintana Roo is stipulated, for which compensation of 6 million 956 thousand pesos is contemplated, and when Fonatur Tren Maya has accredited the payment or deposit of the indicated compensation, the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development will proceed with its execution.

The same will be done in 73 areas of common use of the ejido “Ramonal Río Hondo” in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco in Quintana Roo, an area for which it will pay 86 thousand 850 pesos.

While in the ejido “Don Samuel”, located in the municipality of Escárcega in Campeche, it will expropriate 47 hectares of parceled use, for which it will pay 9 million 870 thousand pesos; as well as one hectare of parceled use in the ejido “El último dolor”, in the municipality of Balancán, in Tabasco, for which it will pay 834 thousand 036 pesos to be used for the construction of railway infrastructure works.
