
Eight people lost their lives almost immediately after being involved in a head-on collision, so rescue group members performed all kinds of maneuvers to get the unfortunate people out of the interior of the vehicles involved.
The tragedy that mobilized Red Cross rescuers, firefighters, Civil Protection and police units occurred on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. on kilometer 05+100 of the road that leads from the town of La Granja to the municipality of Tepehuanes, Durango, according to a report provided by personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office.
Names of the victims
The blue Ford Expedition pickup truck was involved, where Jesús Alberto Aguilar Sánchez, 33 years old, and Abelardo Blanco Gurrola, 52 years old, died, as well as the driver who is currently unidentified.
The second unit is a Dodge Charger type, where two men and three women died. Fernando Amparan Velázquez, 30 years old (crew member), Juan Joel Aguilar, 30, Guadalupe Rivera Ramírez, 26, Briseida Rodríguez, 25, and a 17-year-old girl, who they said invaded the opposite lane.
The Public Prosecutor and Experts from the Forensic Medicine Department prepared the corresponding report and transferred the bodies to the morgue for the required autopsy.
