
Authorities in Jalisco confirmed the death of priest Isaías Ramírez González, who was found dead on August 17 under the San Fernando or Fernando Espinosa bridge, located in the La Laja neighborhood, in the municipality of Zapotlanejo.
Relatives of priest Isaías Ramírez carried out the formal identification process before the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Special Prosecutor for Missing Persons (FEDP).
The Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences (IJCF) reported that after performing the autopsy on the victim, they identified that the cause of death was due to a deep contusion of the chest and abdomen.
When was he last seen?
According to information provided by the authorities, Isaías Ramírez was reported missing on August 17, because since the 15th of the same month, he had not been seen by acquaintances or family members.
Father Isaías Ramírez González officiated mass in three churches, the Josefinos Religious Church, San José de los Poetas, and assisted in two other parishes.
On August 16, the Police Station and the Civil Protection and Firefighters Unit of Zapotlanejo located his truck with no signs of violence on the Fernando Espinoza or San Fernando bridge at km 10 on the Zapotlanejo-Guadalajara highway, just 10 meters from the ravine.
On August 17, the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Missing Persons (FEPD) reported that they had started an investigation file so that search operations could be deployed in a coordinated manner in various parts of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, as well as in the vicinity where the victim lived; but since it became known, the investigations began.
