This Baja California port has positioned itself as a leader in the Mexican Pacific, having received 142 cruise ships carrying more than 470 thousand passengers in the first half of 2024.

Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda (Morena) also reported that the destinations of Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta occupy second and third place, respectively, in passenger arrivals.

According to information from DATATUR, the growth of cruise ships and passengers in transit visiting this Baja California port is growing and it is not ruled out that for this year, the number of tourists will exceed the million that was registered in 2023.

Ávila Olmeda said that these successes not only strengthen the Baja California economy, but also create valuable opportunities for development and well-being for the communities, thanks to its varied tourist offer that includes everything from impressive beaches and mountains, starred cuisine, to excellent wines and beers.

According to information provided by the shipping lines that arrive in Ensenada, in the first half of 2024, 80 percent of passengers disembarked to take tours or visit the city, which brings well-being to all the people of the town who subsist on tourism.

This achievement underlines the sustained growth of the region in the cruise sector and demonstrates how Ensenada has become a preferred destination for the main shipping lines, including: Carnival Cruise, Princess, Disney, Oceania, Holland America, Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise, Regent Seven Seas and Viking.
