“The carnage will begin”: banner directed at the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar, is unfurled

Threats against Baja California authorities do not cease. Now it was the state governor, Marina del Pilar, who was mentioned on a banner displayed in the municipality of Mexicali. The message referred to alleged links between security agents and a criminal group.

The banner was placed in the early hours of Saturday, August 17 on a pedestrian bridge located on Lázaro Cárdenas Boulevard, in the Zacatecas neighborhood. Zeta Tijuana reports indicate that the discovery was made at approximately 4:00 a.m.

This caused local authorities to deploy a security device in the area, in order to find the whereabouts of the alleged perpetrators. But so far there are no records of people arrested.

Images of the banner displayed were disseminated through social networks. According to its content, agents of the State Force of Citizen Security (FESC) would have links with a criminal cell linked to the Sinaloa Cartel.

“MARINA DEL PILAR YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SHIT IF YOU DON’T CALM DOWN YOUR FUCKING PIGS FROM THE FESC SOTO, ROMERO LOPEZ, RODRIGO, ORTIZ, ROSILES, HIDALGO, ARANDA, ARREDONDO, LIMÓN, ROBLES, WHAT ARE YOU BRINGING WITH YOU, VICENTE, RAMIREZ, FOR BEING AT THE ORDERS OF THE RUSSIANS? DON’T BE MARRANOZ, DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES, THE CARNAGE WILL BEGIN (sic),” reads the message.

The Russians are a criminal group that has established itself as an armed wing linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, particularly to the faction of Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada (drug trafficker arrested on July 25 in El Paso, Texas). Its main leader is Jesús Alexander Sánchez Félix and/or Juan José Ponce Félix, alias ‘El Ruso’, who is also under the scrutiny of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States (US).

It has not yet been determined whether a specific criminal group is behind these events, since the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Baja California has not issued a statement on the matter.

Baja California prosecutor threatened

These messages are added to the one reported last week in the municipality of Tecate, where a banner with supposed animal remains was found in a row. The text, on that occasion, mentioned María Elena Andrade Ramírez, head of the FGE.

The message was signed with the initials “CJNG,” which refer to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, a criminal organization led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” a drug trafficker for whom the United States offers a reward of up to USD 10 million.

“María Elena Andrade Ramírez, stop sending your dog, Juan Carlos Buenrostro Molina, to continue making agreements with the ‘CdS’ (Sinaloa Cartel). Keep turning a blind eye and we will retaliate!! Sincerely: CJNG,” reads the banner.

In light of these events, the prosecutor indicated that criminal groups place banners or posters with the aim of instilling “terror” among the population. However, she warned that the Prosecutor’s Office will continue working to combat this type of criminal acts.

“If the idea is to sow terror or fear, that will not happen. We continue with our work, a transparent work. “If we have no commitments, we will continue working as we should,” Andrade Ramírez told the weekly Zeta.
