Promotional actions for tourism in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo have been good

Tourist service providers in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo have highlighted the success of the tourist promotion strategies that have boosted the destination during the summer vacation season that is about to end. Thanks to these actions, both hotels and restaurants reached occupancy rates above 80 percent, exceeding initial expectations.

Antonio Meneses Pelayo, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC) in Zihuatanejo, said that the tourist promotion campaigns, both nationally and internationally, have been executed with precision, thanks to the joint effort of the municipal government and the Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Meneses Pelayo stressed the importance of events such as the Tianguis Turístico, the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos, and other regional and state events, which have significantly contributed to positioning Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo not only as a premium destination in Guerrero and the Pacific, but also as one of the most prominent at the national level.

The restaurant leader emphasized the need to continue with these promotional strategies and, at the same time, improve air connectivity, which would allow opening new horizons in national and international markets.
