Sinaloa dams are gradually recovering: they are at 23% of their total capacity

Due to the heavy rains generated in Sinaloa, the dams have shown an increase of 23.7 percent in their total capacity, that is, 3709.1 cubic milliliters, with a difference of 1438.4 cubic millimeters compared to last year.

The Sanalona dam, located in the municipality of Culiacán, has captured 245.2 cubic millimeters this month, that is, 35.6% of its storage, with a difference of 102.6 cubic millimeters compared to last year, according to the report issued by the National Water Commission (Conagua).

The Luis Donaldo Colosio dam, or Huites dam, is located in Choix, and so far has captured 1361.2 cubic millimeters this month, that is, 42.5% of its storage, with a difference of 577.1 cubic millimeters compared to last year.

Other dams that have been capturing water due to the recent rains are Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in El Fuerte with 1361.2 cubic millimeters and 67.6 cubic meters per second, the Adolfo López Mateos, which stores 491.2 cubic millimeters and receives 72.1 cubic meters per second.

Next in line are the José López Portillo, with 481.1 cubic millimeters of storage and 40.5 cubic meters per second, and the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, 47.8 cubic meters per second.
