Although they agree to pay the fee for maintenance, they point out that this year they exceeded it.
Parents said they are unhappy with the amount of the voluntary fee for Secondary School 56 in Ixtapa, as they say that this year it is per student and not per family.
For the school year that has just begun, each family is being asked for 600 pesos per student, 900 for two and 1,000 pesos in the case of three siblings.
It is worth mentioning that the amount of the voluntary fees must be by agreement of the Parents’ Association of each school and it is money that is used for the maintenance of the facilities.
The registration of students should not be conditioned to the payment of the fee and in the case that directors, teachers or administrators deny the registration of a student for not having paid the fee, it may be the subject of a complaint to the Profeco.
In the case of the Secondary School of Ixtapa, if they do not pay, they are making them sign a promissory note.
On the other hand, the SEP recommends paying the fee since the schools do not have a government budget for their maintenance.
