First case of monkeypox confirmed in Los Cabos, BCS

Juan Jova Luna Carballo, head of the general hospital in Cabo San Lucas, confirmed the first case of monkeypox in the municipality of Los Cabos, Baja California Sur.

Luna Carballo, a master in public health and epidemiology, indicated in a statement that “the first case of Mpox (monkeypox) has been confirmed in the hospital of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Cabo San Lucas.”

The document indicated that extreme precautions have been taken towards citizens in the provision of hospital services.

In addition, it was requested “that the application of protocols be guaranteed, such as the use of face masks or masks during work days.”
