Shooting at the ‘Taboo’ beach club in Tulum leaves one dead and one injured

On Wednesday afternoon, a violent armed attack inside the Taboo beach club, located at kilometer 7 of the Tulum-Boca Paila state highway, left one person dead and another injured.

The incident was reported minutes before 2:00 p.m. on August 28, when gunshots were reported in the hotel zone of Tulum, which immediately activated a strong security device by the Municipal Police, State Police and National Guard, who arrived at the scene to secure the site and control the situation.

Witnesses at the scene reported that shots were heard that ended the life of one person on the spot, while another was injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The identity of the victims has not yet been confirmed by the authorities.

The area was cordoned off and a strong security operation was carried out, which included the presence of Mexican Army personnel, to preserve the crime scene and guarantee the safety of tourists and residents in the area.

As a result of this operation, at least three people were arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident. Authorities have begun investigations to clarify the motives behind this attack and determine the responsibility of those arrested.
